Things I Learned This Year (2025 Edition)
I wrote one of these in 2023, and given the year we had, I needed to write one for this year. So, here it is, the list of things I learned in 2025.
- Humanity’s still doomed. The young are lost in their pronouns or panic over a burning world, while the old are too jaded to care, watching wasted potential fade into weakness.
- Having said that, humanity’s realizing the harm of being always online, always "on". The analog is back, with records, physical notes, and real things. I’ve returned to CDs, and it feels like the ’90s again. It’s awesome.
- Back to the fundamentals of things is just what's needed. Simplicity rules. Doing the basic stuff right will give you a solid base to start building new things.
- Related to the previous, I learned to work harder without complaining when things don't go. I understood finally that the hard way is the right way, and working on the fundamentals cannot be underestimated.
- Find buffers of silence. Silence is not only good, but needed for a healthy life.
- I can't pick my battles. I can't deal with stupid-on-purpose anymore. So I just let those assholes know what I think, openly. I let it out of my chest. It feels better after that.
- Friends are not forever. These past two years showed me who my real friends are.
- LTPR: Listen, Think, Pause, Respond.
- Focus on the way. Every day.
