Simple Beats Optimal
I have a tendency to overthink things, looking for the best approach, the right tool, or the most efficient way to get something done. The problem is that finding the optimal solution often takes more time and effort than simply getting started. Simple gets you moving and it gets you to a result faster, even if that result isn't perfect.
The beauty of simple is that you can iterate. Get something working, see what works and what doesn't, make adjustments, and do it again. Each version gets a little better, informed by actual experience rather than assumptions. Before long, you have something better than what you might have spent all that time trying to design upfront.
I'd rather have something simple that works today and gets better tomorrow than a perfect solution that never gets finished.
Simple beats optimal. Get it done, then make it better.
