What's In The Name

A reader sent me an email asking: How did you settle upon the name "47nil"? I have never stopped to think about that, so here it is, the answer I sent him.

47nil is a little hard to explain, but in broad strokes, the number 47 holds a special meaning for me from my time in the military, and it’s stuck with me ever since. Nil represents something I’m drawn to - empty spaces, the potential to build from nothing, and the creative freedom that comes with it. Put those ideas together, and you get 47nil.
