Best Books

A good friend recently asked me what were the best "trilogy" books that I've ever read. The answer is tricky, since some of those "trilogies" are often five or more books, but I settled on a good list that I thought I'd share.

In order of most liked and influential in my life:

1. William Gibson Sprawl Trilogy: Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive.
2. Frank Herbert Dune: Dune, Dune Messiah, Children of Dune.
3. Isaac Asimov Foundation: Foundation, Foundation and Empire, Second Foundation.
4. J. R. R. Tolkien Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King.
5. Stephen King The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger, The Drawing of the Three, The Waste Lands, Wizard and Glass.

I've read most of the them when I was in my early and late teens, but I've re-read them all several times as an adult. In spite of being works of fiction, there is so much to take from those books.
